The Original Promise And Law’s Description Of The Fundamental Principles Of Girl Guiding And Girl Scouting Owes Much To All Of These Factors.

Each Girl Guide And Girl Scout Who Joins The Movement Takes Part In A Range Of Engaging Activities And Challenges That Encourage Them To Participate As Fully As Possible To The Success Of Their Group’s Activities. Girl Guiding And Girl Scouting Promote Physical And Emotional Growth.

Girl Guides And Girl Scouts Grow Via Our Distinctive, Non-formal, Value-based Educational Method. Individual Methods To Non-formal Education Are Encouraged By The Movement. By Exercising Self-motivation And Freedom Of Choice,

The Girl Guide And Girl Scout Decides Her Path And Moves On With Her Chosen Activities At Her Own Speed. In This Approach, A Girl Guide Or Girl Scout Advances Personally, Learns How To Work Well In A Group, And Fosters Her Own Inventiveness And Creativity.

Join The Worldwide Family, Engage With Your Local And National Communities, And Speak Up About The Issues That Are Important To You By Being Active In Girl Guiding And Girl Scouting.

The Girl Scout Movement was formally established in 1939 after GSP Founder Josefa Llanes Escoda returned from an extensive Girl Scout training in the USA. Girl Scouting was first introduced to the Philippines in 1918 when GSUSA groups were organised by American Missionaries. The Girl Scouts of the Philippines received their national organisation charter in 1940.

Although the Association paused its operations during the Second World War, Girl Scout leaders vowed to help the victims and prisoners of war. In 1941, the first national Girl Scout rally and the first leaders’ training conference were conducted. Following the war, the Association’s leaders started on rebuilding it with a lot of public backing.

The Association’s Highest Consultative And Deliberative Body, The National Council Convention, Which Is Held Every Three Years, Acts As A Venue For Guidelines, Policies, And Directives. The 37 Central Board Members, Charter/life Members, Council Presidents, And Delegates Chosen From Each Council As Their Properly Appointed Representatives,

As May Be Required By The Central Board, Serve As Its Representatives. The Central Board, Which Has Semi-annual Meetings, Is The Highest Policy-making Body. The Executive Committee, Which Is Comprised Of The National Officers And Chairpersons Of Standing Committees, Is In Charge Of Overseeing Organisational Matters Together With The Professional Staff.
